Okay, It’s Official…
March 21, 2007 in Blogger Sucks, Technology Sucks
I just posted on my Blogger blog that I have migrated here. I was getting comments there and I’m getting them here and I can’t maintain two blogs at the same time. Yes, I have a very fractured brain (in more ways than one) and can think in (sometimes) multidimensional ways but really, having two identical blogs does not make sense.
So update your blogrolls everyone and I’ll try and get a bit more comfortable in my “new home.”

PROOF THAT I AM INSANE!!!
In case you really need it, here it is. Have a look.
This is the form that is filled out by a doctor in the Emergency Department, when you are admitted to a Psychiatric Ward for a 72 Hour Observation Period.
I actually have one of mine from one of my hospitalizations. It was given to me after I was transferred from one "Institution" to another. The second physician was supposed to ask for it. He never did.
I completely forgot about it until I was released and came home. It was still in my jacket pocket. It has all of the nice boxes ticked off that PROVE I'M NUTS.
I'm going to frame it and put it on my wall. I just haven't gotten around to picking up the frame yet.
I get pretty preoccupied with being such TOTAL WINGNUT. That kind of makes something like a frame slip my mind. Until I pause and think that some frames actually have wingnuts.

Yes, PA is a woman but she chose this badge for four reasons:
1. She can not stand colour used for gender distinction. The one for a female Blogger was pink. Therefore, this is to be used in protest.
2. PA is also in touch quite comfortably with both her "masculine" as well as her "feminine" side.
3. The third choice of badges did not appeal to her--it was in fact rather unattractive in her opinion.
4. Blue looks better in her sidebar.
Keep Scrolling for More Blog Love...
Although, unfortunately I can't remember what all of the badges mean that aren't labelled!

Hi PA, glad to have re-found you with no trouble whatsoever. :-) Gawd it’s a grim grey and grizzly morning here today. Urk we’ve just had some nice sunny days and I’m missing them already.

Your flight path has been updated and revised. Those people who click on your name from now on, will arrive at the WordPress terminal PatientAnonymous.

Oh, oh ohhhh….the bliss of entering a comment and seeing it being accepted without any hassle. Thank goodness you saw sense and migrated. Now, we just have to convince our other bloggy friends that they should migrate too. (sigh)
March 22, 2007 at 10:49 am
Hey…everything seems to be working fine here…
Hope you find wordpress a bit more comfortable and less annoying!
March 22, 2007 at 10:53 am
Thanks, sis…and I *think* my avatar is finally here–although it didn’t crop properly. I read that it just takes time forit to show up. Let’s see when I send this…
March 22, 2007 at 11:03 am
Hi Maggie and and gloomferret, thanks for popping by.
Maggie, I know…I am yearning for spring here. Ugh. I’ve lived in Canada all my life so I should know better than to complain about our winters but by this time of year it relly does seem to be endless.
gloomferret, yes, I think I will probably like WP better…I’ll just have to get used to it and see if I can perhaps add anything to it? Hmmm.
And can anyone tell me why, in my blogroll, Experimental Chimp has a little smiley face beside his link? I don’t know if any of you can see it or just me. Or perhaps I am hallucinating. No, I don’t think I am. It’s not clickable, it just sits there “smiling” at me.
Okay, hi there!
March 22, 2007 at 11:28 am
I think most wordpress.com blogs have a smiley somewhere…its a tracking dangdiddler of some kind.
I think it might just be a coincidence its landed next to chimp, but it might also be a sign from god…
Most people get the smileys at the bottom of the page, or top right, so its probably a layout weirdness on your page thats forced it centre right.
Have I ruined everything now?
No change there then!
March 22, 2007 at 11:36 am
Nothing ruined! I liked the sign from god that it landed next to chimp though. I do kind of feel like a monkey a lot of the time (no offense chimpy if you’re reading this!)
Another thing that I can’t quite get a handle on is why some comments seem to be going through and needing moderation and some are not!
For example, your first one did in this post and now your second, above did not.
I’m sorry if I’m sounding like a dope but ayeee…
March 22, 2007 at 1:39 pm
I believe theres a setting somewhere in the options that allows people to comment without moderation once a comment has already been moderated.
This is the default I think.
And also you have to make comments with the same details as when you first commented or wordpress doesn’t know you’re an approved commenter and you are required to be moderated again…
This is the case for wordpress self installs, so I presume a similar case applies on wordpress.com
March 22, 2007 at 1:44 pm
That’s what I kind of figured…thanks for getting back to me. I suppose I’ll figure it all out eventually *rolls eyes*
March 23, 2007 at 9:08 pm
I like your new place and the official ATM blogroll is updated. And while I’m here, let me say thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving your great comments. I always enjoy reading them (and I’m jealous that you can always think of something interesting to say). You’re the best.
March 23, 2007 at 9:24 pm
Oh MBA you flatter me too much and underestimate yourself! Thank you for the compliment and you know I’m a big fan of you too.
March 23, 2007 at 11:26 pm
Hi PA,
My blogroll has been updated.
Welcome to WordPress & (hopefully) hassle free blogging.
You’ll probably find that WP too has problems, they are just different from the ones that you encountered on Blogger.
So I’ll be waiting for the next step in your blog evolution….
Migration to your own domain :)
March 23, 2007 at 11:27 pm
I forgot to add that I really like your theme.
It’s cool :)
March 23, 2007 at 11:32 pm
Really sorry to be monopolising your comments, but don’t you think you should put in a link to your old blog in your sidebar or in your blogroll??
March 24, 2007 at 7:57 am
Hi vijay, thanks for everything. I don’t know about adding a link. I mean, everything is basically the same (i.e. everything migrated and I posted a post on the Blogger blog redirecting everyone here.) The Blogger blog is no longer being updated, however, it is the only one that seems to come up in search engines–or Google at least. I haven’t checked others. I guess this takes some time with WP blogs. Posting a link to the other might be a little silly, don’t you think, because the last post simply says: “Go to http://pstientanonymous.wordpress.com”
Thanks again,
PA

By my calculations it takes google about 4 days to index a new post, but a new blog probably takes a bit longer.
Plus google often doesn’t index duplicate content, so you may want to delete all your posts on blogger and just leave the ‘I have moved’ page up there for a few months.
March 24, 2007 at 8:41 am
Hi gloomy, that interesting. Well, I don’t care it it perhaps indexes the content that much–I don’t know if the content on this thing is shite or not but more importantly, I guess I just want people to find me. But I get “content” for search engine keyword purposes. And that is always fun. But I’m going to kind of miss my stats counter–looking up that kind of thing. I don’t get the “stats.” They have here. They don’t really tell you very much other than how many people have been here and a referral source. Nothing very interesting. Eh.
March 24, 2007 at 6:39 pm
Okay, of course the first time I tried to update my blogroll, it didn’t take. So, I am trying again. I don’t know why I am so “link” challenged.
March 24, 2007 at 7:16 pm
No worriesMBA, it might be going around or people are busy. I’ve had people say they’ve updated me but being a tad OCD (although not officially dx’d) I’ve checked and it hasn’t taken on their blogs either. Either that or there’s now a HUGE Blogger vs. WordPress war going on!
