Two for One Special?
October 4, 2008 in Boring Posts, Cranky, Facts About Patient Anonymous, Medicine, Neat Neuro Stuff, Seizures
I had two (I guess relatively?) minor seizures yesterday…would it be night? Yes. This is almost getting boring and repetitive to keep making the blog posts.
However, same as before (well, the most recent one.) Eyes start blinking and going kind of funky, blurred vision, get a bit of a headache, start salivating. With one, my head went kind of limp again and my right arm started to twitch a bit.
With both, consciousness was altered some.
The other, just the eyes and such. Oh, yes. Epigastric rising with both–that’s becoming a pattern–as so are these it seems.
Feeling pretty shitty today. Postictal headache and my moods are not terribly happy. Yes, I could quite well deal with no world at all right now. I think some cognitive impairment too. It’s taking a lot to get my brain even functioning to write this. I’m nauseous too. Before, when postictal my tummy was upset as well.
Anyway, that’s that. Maybe this postictal ickiness came around again because a bit of the motor manifestation in my arm?
Who knows, right?

PROOF THAT I AM INSANE!!!
In case you really need it, here it is. Have a look.
This is the form that is filled out by a doctor in the Emergency Department, when you are admitted to a Psychiatric Ward for a 72 Hour Observation Period.
I actually have one of mine from one of my hospitalizations. It was given to me after I was transferred from one "Institution" to another. The second physician was supposed to ask for it. He never did.
I completely forgot about it until I was released and came home. It was still in my jacket pocket. It has all of the nice boxes ticked off that PROVE I'M NUTS.
I'm going to frame it and put it on my wall. I just haven't gotten around to picking up the frame yet.
I get pretty preoccupied with being such TOTAL WINGNUT. That kind of makes something like a frame slip my mind. Until I pause and think that some frames actually have wingnuts.

Yes, PA is a woman but she chose this badge for four reasons:
1. She can not stand colour used for gender distinction. The one for a female Blogger was pink. Therefore, this is to be used in protest.
2. PA is also in touch quite comfortably with both her "masculine" as well as her "feminine" side.
3. The third choice of badges did not appeal to her--it was in fact rather unattractive in her opinion.
4. Blue looks better in her sidebar.

Although, unfortunately I can't remember what all of the badges mean that aren't labelled!

Sounds like a hard way to live, PA. I hope you can find some way that will work to help it be better for you.

Hi Immi, thanks. Well, I will say it’s certainly getting “harder?” However, many people have it worse so I won’t complain too much!
I’m still hoping that this ridiculousness will settle down as soon as the rest of my life does! *rolls eyes*
At least I’m feeling better today? Yes, have been out to do some shopping, am now doing chores and such…so that says something.

((((((((((((hug))))))))))) I know I’ve probably told you this before, but I really appreciate you sharing your difficulties with your seizures (pre, during and post). (As I’m sure a lot of others do too). I do think it continues to need mentioning though: Thank-you.
Query: I know you are often on a plethora of meds, but is there anything you do/take for your postictal headaches, (and is any of it effective)? (maybe a post topic?)
In the meantime, here’s wishing you a couple of “S” free days (NO stress, seizures, squirrles, sucky people, etc.) to get ‘better’ :)

Hi Arkay, thanks honey. That really means a lot to me–you encouraging me–to keep writing about the experiences. Even if I feel they are the same, repetitive…getting boring! *laughing*
And for saying that it can help others? I don’t know. Maybe. I don’t know how many responses I get to my seizure posts. I could run through the category but I don’t recall a lot from other folks that have seizures too. Still, they may be reading and just not commenting, right? That’s fine. All fine and good.
I have migraine meds (a triptan called Maxalt/Rizatriptan) that I could probably take if the headaches were super bad but probably just Ibuprophen is the direction I would go if need be.
I guess they are just more of a “pain…” haha.
Thanks again, love and just for some bouncy happiness…check out my new .mp3 It’s a good one, I think.
