For raginggenius, My New Portishead Fan?
January 11, 2009 in Blogging, Fiction is Stranger Than Life, Life is Stranger Than Fiction, Uncategorized
In keeping with the music theme of late (erm…or well, today) here is another TouYube for raginggenius.
Now you listen up there Mr. insanities, if you don’t feel like listening to Portishead as you said before…just skip on by this post, alright?
Now a bit of explanation for you girliegenius. You’re probably going to watch it after seeing the other and say, WTF??? Who the hell is that kid and just why on earth is she “singing” this and what are they doing and…???
Indeed, “Artistic Expression” but…huh?
There is a reason they used the little girl. She was on the cover of the album where this single lives. So, I give you this next one. And by the way…love it. It’s in the “Archives” on this blog but I’ll post it again for you. A total favourite of mine.
Heh…I said “mine.” I’m so silly.
Oh, and if you didn’t know, it is not necessarily out of order for me to write posts and “dedicate” them to people. Sometimes it happens. *grin*

PROOF THAT I AM INSANE!!!
In case you really need it, here it is. Have a look.
This is the form that is filled out by a doctor in the Emergency Department, when you are admitted to a Psychiatric Ward for a 72 Hour Observation Period.
I actually have one of mine from one of my hospitalizations. It was given to me after I was transferred from one "Institution" to another. The second physician was supposed to ask for it. He never did.
I completely forgot about it until I was released and came home. It was still in my jacket pocket. It has all of the nice boxes ticked off that PROVE I'M NUTS.
I'm going to frame it and put it on my wall. I just haven't gotten around to picking up the frame yet.
I get pretty preoccupied with being such TOTAL WINGNUT. That kind of makes something like a frame slip my mind. Until I pause and think that some frames actually have wingnuts.

Yes, PA is a woman but she chose this badge for four reasons:
1. She can not stand colour used for gender distinction. The one for a female Blogger was pink. Therefore, this is to be used in protest.
2. PA is also in touch quite comfortably with both her "masculine" as well as her "feminine" side.
3. The third choice of badges did not appeal to her--it was in fact rather unattractive in her opinion.
4. Blue looks better in her sidebar.

Although, unfortunately I can't remember what all of the badges mean that aren't labelled!

Mr. Insanities? Never been called that before, but I’m honored just to be noticed. I watched the video anyways and will probably have some nightmares as a result. Its kinda creepy, but then, thats the stuff I like.
January 13, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Hi Mr. Insanities. *laughing* I just thought I’d toss that in there for fun. And honoured to be noticed? I hear you there. I always am, too!
So, how did you sleep? Any nightmares? I hope not.
Yes, it is definitely creepy but another similarity between us–I like “creepy” as well.
January 13, 2009 at 7:23 pm
It turns out I slept fine, and my concerns about nightmares were a bit exaggerated. Which is a shame because odd dreams give me something to think about.
January 14, 2009 at 1:51 pm
Hi thestranger, well that’s good that you slept fine.
Yes, a lot of people can glean something from their dreams. I rarely remember mine but as of late, I have been having more distinct images and things… It’s hard to describe but still not much.
Also, I am only remembering them when I wake up–like immediately waking up and getting out of bed. I’m not getting anything out of my other sleep cycles should I wake up in the middle of the night. Well, alright. A very infrequent nightmare but no, nothing remembered during the night.
I think that sometimes you can get things out of the sort of “random” dreams but I’ve always been more interested in re-occurring dreams. Those have always gotten me curious about what’s going on.
I had one very freaky re-occurring dream throughout my teen years. To this day…I swear! I still haven’t figured out what it means! Maybe given a bit more time and thought now, a bit of retrospection? Even still!
Also, it was in B&W. I dream in colour–at least that of what I remember, right? I should try and look up some stats re: that. Might be interesting…or at least merely curious?
January 18, 2009 at 6:35 pm
OK, that’s just creepy! I was diggin the artistic expression of “Over”, what grabbed me was the part when she was running from light to light in the dark. This one is like a nightmare! I didn’t catch the lyric’s that well, but that’s my first impression anyway. I’ll come back for more when I want “the willies” shivering genius.
January 19, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Hi raginggenius. Wow! I turned you into “shivering genius!” I am rather impressed with myself. Even though I am neither Portishead, nor responsible for the video in any way (other than posting it on my blog) well done, PA!
Yes, it’s pretty freaky. I love freaky and crazy, though. Nothing worse than a band just standing there playing or singing in a music video. Not that every video needs to be all whacked out but let’s try do at least something a bit interesting?
I actually have a lot of problems “hearing” or getting the lyrics too when listening to songs. I’ll have to Google them. But this one is all about being obsessed with someone and (by the title obviously) wanting to completely possess them.
